New Adidas Give You Literal Wings

These are the first pair of shoes that make me want to shout “I AM A GOLDEN GOD!” from the rooftops. And for a guy who’s worn shoes made out of acid sheets, that’s saying quite a lot.

Adidas’s new leather Wings 2.0 shoes by Jeremy Scott are designed to not merely empower, but to look awesome. White man can’t jump, but can he fly? These new kicks will drop on the Adidas Originals website on August 10.

Microsoft Pulls KIN Phones Off the Market. Why? Only 500 of Them Were Sold

This is a true disaster for Microsoft. They wanted so bad to be a serious contender in the smartphone market. Their newest attempt, the KIN, which has only been in stores since May 13th, is now being pulled from the shelves. But why?

Some sources are reporting that as few as 500 KINs were sold in their entire tenure on the market. That’s including both KIN 1 and KIN 2. We figured they wouldn’t sell quite like hot-cakes, but it seemed like something that tweens would eat up. Apparently, the KIN was non-edible. When compared to the 1.7 million iPhone 4s which sold in their very first weekend on the streets, you sort of gain some perspective.

One Field, 600,000 CDs

Bruce Munro and 140 of his closest friends placed a total of 600,000 CDs over the span of Wiltshire field in the UK over the course of a weekend.

The CDSea project started when Munro asked the public to donate their used CDs. After amassing a collection of 600,000, Munro did what any sane person would do after accumulating so many discs. He laid them in a vast field in pretty designs. Hit the jump for more pics.

A Visual Guide to the Lightsabers of the Star Wars Universe

Comparing the size, design and describing the ultimate fate of each lightsaber, this image is the easiest and most straightforward guide to the lightsabers of the Star Wars universe that we’ve ever seen. Well, a more accurate description would be the Star Wars films, because lord knows there were a bunch more lightsabers featured in the various novelizations and comics.

I think my favorite is a pretty close tie between Obi Wan’s original saber he lost in The Phantom Menace while battling Darth Maul, and Maul’s dual-sided saber. Don’t get me wrong, I’d settle for any lightsaber, even Batman’s. And I’ve always wanted a pet Yoda.
