Korea’s very own worker bot Hubo has learned a cool new trick. Hubo now has the “first robot to ride a Segway” attribute to add to his resume. The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology claims they were able to teach Hubo how to man this powered scooter with the help of the company that makes Segway.

Because of this advancement, Hubo can now travel at much faster speeds, up to 20 kilometers per hour compared to its walking speed of 1.3 kilometers per hour.So far, Hubo rides the scooter manned by a scientist using a remote device, but researchers hope to eventually teach Hubo how to operate the scooter himself. — Andrew Dobrow
